This man is an unbelievable voice in the folk world. His sound is unique along with the storytelling weaved through his lyrics. Loved finding this track a few months back. Enjoy beautiful people~
Sweet & Sincere. Love when passionate lyrics are replayed again & again. It's hypnotic... & Extended remix!
This track got so many plays from me last year I wanted to bring it back and highlight a favorite now that the blog is up. Enjoy the deep remix!
Sometimes you just need a beautiful voice with a melodic beat to carry your day ;)
This blog is by no means meant to always be new songs. Pearl Jam is undoubtably one of my favorite bands. They've stood the test of time, have created some of the best rock music every, give back to world, and are proudly outspoken as to their views. These guys are near and dear to my heart. "Better Man," the classic, is for a long lost friend and our bond over music. HB Ee.
Cheers~
Going with that 80's synth vibe from yesterday, this track is a bit more on the indie side. The track is fun and playful while he's being down on himself. I just found out about these guys, but they're on my radar now after hearing them throw out this vibe.
We're bringing this track back! I started dropping this again at clubs. It has that fun sing along vibe and I feel like this was pulled straight from the 80's (it's a few years old). This has one of those infectious choruses you actually yell out. The best thing about the song? It's just fun. Dance Vibe, and everyone throws out the words back. Cheers
Dave Matthews is hyper sexual in his tracks and I love how smooth & sweet he sounds while dripping his lyrics. A love song in a fantasy metaphor full of double entendres and just straight forward sexuality. There's no reason to delve deep into this. Nothing more can be said about DMB that hasn't. Go get high on wine, put on his discography and make love to someone on your kitchen floor. Cheers people
Gaslight led out they're newest album with their single "Get Hurt." I love the track, its an angry realization that was perfect to represent the band's sound while roping in new listeners. But "Have Mercy," is the album's closer and is a soft goodbye to the 16 spanning tracks. I feel as I say this often, it's honest and bare, and I love the soothing sound of Brian Singer duetting with Natalie Prass here. Singing about comfort, and the brutal realization of lies protecting each other. As always, if you loved this check out my favorite of theirs "We Did It When We Were Young" off of Amercian Slang. Cheers!
This track is so sweet and loving from the get go. Hailing the smooth Motown sound from back in the day, you'd think this was created 50 years ago. Carrying even more old sound than Bruno Mars is currently bellowing out, Bridges maintains a loving swing & embodies that early 60's vibe that was once so prevalent on the radio. This isn't even out yet and is a free download so go grab it quickly!
The sound I expected more from Jet back in the day, The Kooks come along with a punk and funk sound. (P. Funk?!?!) Love that slightly distorted guitar over those tight drums. The track is a smooth groove for its extensive time. Note; fuck conventional 3:30-4m tracks. I like seeing conventional songwriting top 5 minutes and go even longer when able. This is a great one to bust across you living rooms imaginary dance floor.
Sam smith has obviously taken over the world by storm. This single I'm betting will be the next. Theres two others I'm looking at closely ("Like I Can" & "I've Told You Now") So much soul in this man's voice, he conveys some serious heartbreak and passion with ease. I have a guarantee that everyone will be trying to hit these notes alone in the car or shower. A$AP adds a fresh element on this version of "I'm Not The Only One" that I appreciate without ever going over the top. Less is more sometimes, and he walks the line well with his rhymes on Smith's track. Love it!
This track is simply put, beautiful. It's the definition of a sunday morning sound. Relaxing, peaceful & sounds very analog with the snaps and crackles behind it. Play the track, open a book, get your studying in or just relax to the sound. I'm delving into both of these artists if this is the vibe they send out.
Yesterday I posted a remix of a classic, & today I felt like doing the same because this one is so swank in its own right. Eau Claire manages to change the sound entirely while still maintaining the integrity of the original. This version is still a world of fun and love the contemporary vision of it. Enjoy~
I don't need to say anything about Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing." The song is obviously a classic and is still great to this day. Here though Kygo adds his unique synth sound to the throwback making it a fun cocktail jam as opposed to the 2am love soundtrack.... Ok, I'd still make love to this at 2am, but the vibe is so fun here instead of the classic romance it was before. Enjoy.... for more check out his take on Ed Sheeran's "Fire"
